Lofty Butter Company is Ontario’s first small-batch cultured butter company, churning butter and crafting high-quality cultured dairy delights since 2020.

Founded by Marie Miller (née Lummiss), BBA ’06, and her husband Chad, Lofty began after realizing they had never seen fresh butter for sale at a farmers’ market. What started as a curiosity quickly became a mission: to fill that gap and craft something truly unique.

Based in Northumberland County, Lofty Butter Company maintains a full weekend farmers’ market schedule across Central Ontario, the GTA, and Eastern Ontario, with refrigerated shipping available throughout much of Southern Ontario.

Today, Lofty Butter Company is about more than butter; it's a way for the Millers to build community, connect people to their food, and keep dollars circulating in local economies.

Lofty’s products aren’t just for elite foodies. Customers often share that their cultured butter reminds them of their grandparents’ farm, flavours they remember from travels abroad, or that it makes the perfect gift for the hard-to-shop-for person.
